Ay there! 👋🏼 Happy Sunday…
This month was pretty busy, but I’ll keep it simple and try just sticking to the main stuff I couldn’t cover last week.
Travels
After France, I hopped on the train to head up to Amsterdam, where I saw my friend Silver (who I’d originally met in Florence):
Lotta fun people there in Amsterdam…
After about a week there, I bounced over to Brussels, Belgium and spent almost a week exploring some cool stuff like the Grand Palace and those crazy Belgium waffles.
On the 14th, I grabbed a plane ticket to the UK and went over to London for 9 days (my final stop...)
Met tons of great people there and also saw many of the cool places you guys recommended from last month!
London’s parks, pubs, churches, and museums (especially the British Museum) were super cool and I tried my best to make the most of it.
About 10 days ago, I arrived back on the island…
…My next plan is to save up and hit South America in June/July once I’ve got enough money, and I’m still working out the details so if anyone knows their way around there, please reach out!
Meanwhile, I’m doing some food delivery and dog walking, as well as a digital marketing gig for a local catering company (that you may’ve heard of)…
In terms of college, I just accepted my offer to UBC and unless I can find a better alternative soon—which would hopefully be an internship in something related to software/tech—I’ll likely go for at least a year and see what happens.
→ I’ve been browsing Indeed a lot, but if anyone knows of a better plan, I’m all ears!
Expanding the Mind
Book: Thinking, Fast & Slow
I finally got around to reading this one and it was really interesting… It’s packed with many cool insights about our mind works with two main ways of thinking (which I also summarized here if you want to explore the topic more).
Video: The future of payments
Jack Mallers is quite the dude. As the brilliant 28 year old running Strike—a rapidly growing crypto-based payments app—he just announced his company’s partnership with Twitter and Shopify, and it’s likely just the beginning. 🚀
And that’s all! Thx for reading.
Until next time, adios✌🏼
