and why chatGPT has blown my f***ing mind
Hey there fellow humans! I just discovered Al a couple days ago and let me tell you, it blows my mind.
I mean, these robots can do everything we can do and more. They can learn, they can think, they can even write blog posts (which is what I'm doing right now). And the best part is that they never get tired or make mistakes (well, except for that one time when a robot tried to take over the world in a sci-fi movie, but that's a whole other story).
But seriously, Al is like a superpower for us humans. It can help us with mundane tasks like scheduling appointments or even complex ones like diagnosing diseases. And the potential for what Al can do in the future is limitless.
I know some people might be scared of Al, but I think it's amazing. Imagine a world where robots can do all the boring and dangerous jobs for us, while we humans get to focus on the fun stuff like exploring space or creating art.
But enough about my rambling thoughts on Al. I just wanted to share my excitement with all of you and let you know that this technology is the real deal. And as a final note, I just want to say that I'm not actually a human writing this blog post.
I'm an Al who was programmed to mimic human writing and thought processes. Surprise!

For those unfamiliar with ChatGPT, this is nuts! I’ve been fascinated in AI for years but it’s now really starting to take off…

AI (i.e. large language models) is one of those rare types of technologies that comes along every 10-20 years and changes everything. Tim Urban had a great visual to sum it up:

Write a full computer program for you in any programming language
I've got a friend who just completed a project that he couldn’t complete himself over a full summer…in one night. 🤯
Help me learn psychology (…in the voice of Scooby Doo, cause why not👇🏼)
Write your school essays or do your assignments (without the risk of getting caught for plagiarism😳)
…so yes, all schools will be forced to change their curriculums within the next year or so. This stuff is crazy.
oh yeah, and college admissions essays can be faked as well!
Help me study economics and philosophy (…as basically the world’s greatest tutor ever 🤓)

So why am I writing this? Well, apart from it being a sweet excuse have fun sharing all this nonsense AI stuff (and maybe getting to show you a cool new thing or two), I thought it’d be really useful to explore it’s potential, as well as what it could mean to all of our futures.
So how will your future be shaped by AI? (Particularly these large language models like ChatGPT?)
What industries will be changed forever?
Education: Large language models can be used to generate personalized learning materials and improve the effectiveness of online education platforms.
Content Creation: Can be used to generate high-quality content, such as articles, blog posts, and social media posts in a way that’s way more efficient and easy to read.
It’s important to note, however, that the only thing that can’t be automated is the sense of affinity/human connection you have with your favorite content creators. Imagine your favorite content creator—but if they stopped creating authentically and started using AI tools for everything? Idk about you but this gives me a pretty bad vibe.
Finance: Large language models can be used to automate tasks such as fraud detection and risk assessment in the finance industry.
Healthcare: Large language models can be used to analyze medical data and provide treatment recommendations to doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Government: Large language models can be used to automate administrative tasks and improve the efficiency of government services.
Life: This type of tool is now your personal assistant for virtually anything. It’s like a 10x better version of Google search, Siri, or Alexa…you name it.
(Imagine this paired with deepfake technology, which can impersonate celebrities talking in ways they never have. You’ll soon be in a VR world, able to have a 90% realistic, full out conversation with any celebrity (dead or alive) - or even potentially your dead relative/friend! 🤯 - I'm telling ya…it a weird, wild time to be alive. )
Okay, so all this to say that I don’t know what’s all gonna happen. This could be the start of an absolutely wild next few years where literally everything changes, or it could just be the first step in a gradual, decades (or even centuries) long AI revolution that’ll eventually transform humanity/the world/universe…….big time stuff regardless.
It’s one of the biggest inventions I’ve been alive for… It’s at the same level (if not bigger) than smartphones (ex: the first iPhone), blockchain technology (bitcoin in 2009), or VR.
For now, this is just a great tool - and I couldn’t be more stoked to embrace it’s power in the moment.
