It’s currently 3:47AM on August 6th in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I’m jet lagged, currently laughing as i try to hear my own thoughts over the leafblower ass snores of my roommate I’m sharing a bed with (and just met). I’m in a continent I’ve never stepped foot in, in the winter, and the youngest among hundreds at this crypto conference, yet i (somehow) feel at home.
Why?
Well… That’s a good question, and i would have to say it’s because of the people.
When Apple once famously remarked, “Here is to the crazy ones… The misfits…etc.” — this must’ve damn been what they meant 😆
Like ….what the actual hell…am i doing?
Lol—and not the classic “what do you do” one liners at a networking event… where I’d answer about AI and event support, and try to answer briefly, but fail miserably, with my I-don’t-know-how-to-explain-this-shit-simply life in only 5 seconds.
But for real, like what if we got existential for a sec: what am i doing? With my life? On this “you only get one shot at life” ride…
??
A cool friend i met yesterday loved the idea of me following this passion for tech and entrepreneurship down to Argentina and posed the question: “what is your goal by the end of the month?”
After getting interrupted by some painfully intense “networking”, we came back to the question:
“Well…” i said, “To have a bunch of fun, meet and spend time with amazing people, and make serious progress on my projects.”
After reflecting more, I’m keeping it simpler: “to stay healthy and have sustainable fun”
if this were a book, this chapter might be called something like “Optimism…p2” — with part one being the gap year spark a couple years ago (w/ 3 months in Europe 🎒)
It’s rational optimist szn
And time to get after it.
P.S. this is my first update in many months, I can probably expect some more frequent updates going forward 🙂
